APPENDIX “J” GENERAL PRESCRIPTIONS FOR CROSS-COUNTRY VEHICLES

3.8 Drive-by-wire
Los mandos de acelerador del tipo «drive by wire» están
prohibidos en los Grupos T2 y T4, menos en el caso de que
existan en los vehículos homologados y se autoricen en el Grupo
T1.
3.9 Humo
El motor no podrá producir humo.
Se designará específicamente un juez de hechos.
3.10

Limitador de velocidad
Se autoriza un sistema limitador de velocidad operado
manualmente desde el habitáculo.
Su función debe ser exclusivamente limitar la velocidad del
vehículo cuando el equipo de a bordo lo decida.
El umbral de velocidad debe ser inferior a la velocidad máxima
especificada en el Reglamento Particular de la prueba para
cruzar ciudades.

ARTÍCULO 4 - TRANSMISIÓN
Todos los vehículos deben estar equipados con una caja de cambios
que incluya obligatoriamente una relación de marcha atrás en estado de
funcionamiento cuando el vehículo toma la salida de una prueba, y que
pueda ser seleccionada por el piloto sentado al volante.
ARTÍCULO 5 - SUSPENSIÓN
Los elementos de la suspensión construidos parcial o totalmente en
materiales compuestos están prohibidos.
ARTÍCULO 6 - RUEDAS Y NEUMÁTICOS
Las ruedas construidas parcial o totalmente de materiales compuestos
están prohibidas.
A excepción de los líquidos y geles antipinchazos aplicados en la superficie
interna de los neumáticos, está prohibida la utilización de cualquier
dispositivo que permita mantener las prestaciones del neumático con una
presión interna igual o inferior a la presión atmosférica.
El interior del neumático (espacio comprendido entre la llanta y la parte
interna del neumático) debe rellenarse únicamente con aire y con los
productos mencionados anteriormente.

3.8 Drive-by-wire
Accelerator controls of the "drive-by-wire" type are forbidden
in Groups T2 and T4, unless they exist on the homologated
vehicles, and are authorised in Group T1.
3.9 Smoke
It is forbidden to produce smoke from the engine.
A Judge of Fact will be appointed.
3.10

Speed limiter
A speed limiter system operated manually from the cockpit is
authorised.
The sole function of this system must be to limit the speed of the
vehicle when the crew so decides.
The speed threshold used by the system must be lower than the
maximum speed specified in the supplementary regulations of
the event for crossing villages.

ARTICLE 4 - TRANSMISSION
All cars must be fitted with a gearbox including a reverse gear which
must be in working order when the car starts the event, and be able to be
operated by the driver when he is normally seated.
ARTICLE 5 - SUSPENSION
Suspension parts made partially or entirely from composite materials are
prohibited.
ARTICLE 6 - WHEELS AND TYRES
Wheels made partially or entirely from composite materials are prohibited.
With the exception of anti-puncture liquids and gels applied to the internal
surface of the tyres, the use of any device allowing a tyre to maintain
performance with a pressure equal to or lower than atmospheric pressure
is prohibited.
The interior of the tyre (space between the rim and internal part of the
tyre) must be filled only with air and the products mentioned above.

Medición de la anchura de rueda:
La rueda estará montada en el vehículo y apoyada en el suelo, el
vehículo se encontrará en condiciones de carrera, el conductor a bordo,
la medición de la anchura de la rueda se efectuará en cualquier punto
de la circunferencia del neumático, excepto en la zona de contacto con
el suelo.
Cuando se monten neumáticos múltiples como parte de una rueda
completa, esta deberá respetar las dimensiones máximas previstas para
el grupo en el que se utilizan ese tipo de neumáticos.

Measuring wheel width:
The width is to be measured with the wheel mounted on the car, on the
ground, the vehicle in race condition, driver aboard, at any point along the
circumference of the tyre, except in the area in contact with the ground.

ARTÍCULO 7 - CARROCERÍA / CHASIS / MONOCASCO

7.1

Dimensiones interiores mínimas
Si una modificación autorizada por al Anexo J afecta a una
dimensión citada en la ficha de homologación, esta dimensión no
podrá considerarse como criterio de elección de dicho vehículo.

7.2 Habitáculo
No está permitido instalar nada en el habitáculo excepto: ruedas,
herramientas, piezas de repuesto, equipamiento de seguridad,
equipamiento electrónico, materiales y controles necesarios
para la conducción, depósito del líquido lavacristales.
En vehículos T1, T3 y T2, se permite instalar rueda(s) de
repuesto, piezas de repuesto y lastre (si está autorizado) en el
habitáculo.
El espacio y el asiento del pasajero de un vehículo abierto no
deben cubrirse de ninguna forma.
Los contenedores para los cascos y herramientas situados en el
habitáculo deberán estar hechos de materiales no inflamables y
no deberán, en caso de incendio, emitir gases tóxicos.
En el caso de un vehículo con tres ocupantes y en el que el
respaldo del asiento más retrasado esté situado a más de 20
cm de la parte trasera del asiento más adelantado, el vehículo
deberá respetar las siguientes condiciones:
- Debe tener cuatro puertas laterales equipadas con ventanas
transparentes, que permitan el libre acceso a los asientos.
- Debe tener una estructura de seguridad específica, como se
define en el Artículo 283-8.
- La parte delantera del(de los) asiento(s) trasero(s) debe
situarse a más de 20 cm por detrás del respaldo del(de los)

When multiple tyres are fitted as part of a complete wheel, the latter must
comply with the maximum dimensions for the group in which these tyres
are used.
7.1

Minimum inside dimensions
If a modification authorised by Appendix J affects a dimension
stated on the homologation form, this dimension may not be
retained as an eligibility criterion for the car.

7.2 Cockpit
Only the following accessories may be installed in the cockpit:
tools, safety equipment, electronic equipment, materials and
controls necessary for driving, windscreen washer water
container.
On T1, T3 and T2 cars, it is permitted to install spare wheel(s),
spare parts and ballast (if permitted) in the cockpit.
The passenger area and seat of an open car must in no way
be covered.
Containers for helmets and tools situated in the cockpit must be
made of non-inflammable material and they must not, in case of
fire, give off toxic vapours.
In the case of a car with a crew of three and in which the back of
the rearmost seat is situated more than 20 cm to the rear of the
back of the seat which is furthest forward, the car must respect
the following conditions:
- it must have four side doors equipped with transparent
windows and allowing free access to the seats.
- it must have a specific safety cage as defined in Article 283-8.
- the front of the rear seat(s) must be positioned more than
20cm to the rear of the back(s) of the front seat(s).
