Four Meets Seven
( Patrick Millstone )
In this composition Patrick Millstone describes the meeting of two
friends with quite different personalities, the one being introvert (4/4), the
other extrovert (7/8). The lyrical introduction suggests the quiet beginning
of the conversion. By means of an almost constant alteration of both
meters, the Allegro part suggests a sudden quarrel. Finally both friends
are parting.
