Ser el primer cocinero latinoamericano del mundo en portar la antorcha olimpica fue la noticia de mi vida. Hasta
hoy no lo puedo creer. En el colegio, siempre fui malo en
educación física, sin embargo enterarme de mi elección
para participar en las olimpiadas en Londres me llenó de
alegría, además, esta experiencia es, para mí, un honor
indescriptible. Quiero continuar difundiendo nuestra gastronomía al mundo y mostrar todas aquellas razones por
las que me siento satisfecho y orgulloso de ser peruano
y de tener una cultura milenaria de ingredientes y comida
deliciosa.
Being the first Latin American chef in the world to carry
the Olympic torch was the story of my life. To this day I
can’t believe it. At school I was always bad in Physical
Education. However, knowing that I had been chosen
to participate in the London Summer Olympics filled
me with joy. For me, this experience is an indescribable
honor. I want to continue disseminating our cuisine in the
world and showing all the reasons why I am happy and
proud of being Peruvian and having an ancient culture of
delicious food ingredients.
