2014 - Exhibition of Central American and Panamanian
Art in Miami, Florida
Another achievement of Fundación Rozas-Botrán was the
launching and exhibition in Miami, of a set of works by visual
artists of Central America and Panama through the linkage
with the financial institution Northern Trust Bank, who offered
its head office for the exhibition and its participation in the
curatorials through international representatives such as Tina
Spiro and Carol Damian, Director and curator of the Frost Art
Museum of contemporary art at Florida.
This first exhibition is very important because it gathers different
trends of art from the region. The objective, in terms of art, consists
in creating a block of regional exhibition that may open doors
to Central American and Panamanian art at important spaces
in other latitudes. The social objective of the alliance is focused
on resource mobilization to attend the needy population of
Guatemala through the services of the Instituto de Investigación
Genética Humana (INVEGEM), and specifically for the programme
for children with different types of leukemia.
A novel Campus-Museo in Central America and Panama
Fundación Rozas-Botrán established an agreement with
Universidad del Istmo de Guatemala to transform the new site
of this education centre in a Campus-museum, the first to be
in the region with this category. The objective is to propitiate
the harmonious coexistence of young students, with master
pieces of visual arts from the 20th and 21st centuries that belong
to Colección de Artes Visuales de Fundación Rozas-Botrán.
